BARKED
(best viewed on a desktop)
Trees are the world’s oldest living beings. Their majestic beauty is a spiritual connection to the earth. They sustain us physically and emotionally. BARKED founder Robert Ouellette travels the globe photographing the rarest of these ancient treasures to preserve their legacy. The bark of every tree tells the story of its life. Collectively, the images document the fragile legacy of nature in an age of massive change.
The bark images are made using advanced photographic tools. Where possible, the entire girth of a tree is captured in sections. The high-definition results are digitally stitched together to make seamless images. In a noisy, frantic world these artworks evoke a quieter, pre-modern age.
The barked images are available in a number of different formats. Supporters of our mission can visit the barked shop for T-shirts, posters, cards, and other special items. Fine-Art collectors and institutions interested in carrying our work can visit our custom artworks page or contact us directly for information.
